The BALTIC HOUSE International Theatre Festival is one of the most significant and prestigious theatre forums in Europe. Organized since 1991, in October. Venues – all scenic areas in the BALTIC HOUSE Theatre-Festival, as well as stages of St. Petersburg theatres. The BALTIC HOUSE Theatre-Festival today is a large-scale forum which presents the most complete picture of European theatre life for professional community and the audiences.

From November 27 to December 1, 2019, you are welcome to join our Caravan to Yekaterinburg – the cultural hub of the Ural region, a less known area of Russia. Yekaterinburg is often referred to as the "third capital" of Russia (after Moscow and St. Petersburg) - vast, rapidly developing and rich in all kinds of resources, a city of cultural challenges and the country’s source of creative talents.
Situated in the Ural Mountains, Yekaterinburg is a cultural bridge between Asia and Europe. Traditions, artistic trends and initiatives "from the Urals" are famous and loved across the country: the Ural rock music and the Ural poetry, the Ural dramaturgy and the Ural science fiction, the Ural contemporary dance and the Ural non-conformism, the Ural school of animation... Nowadays, the most prominent contemporary art initiatives include the Ural Industrial Biennale of Contemporary Art, the Stenografiya Festival of Street Art, and famous across Russia Kolyada-Theatre and Tatiana Baganova’s Provincial Dances Theatre.
Yekaterinburg is known for lots of independent companies, theatres and studios – students', youth, university, and school theatres, and every year this environment is replenished with new names. Our Caravan will introduce you to the city’s authentic and vibrant cultural life and showcase its rich performing arts scene.
Co-organised in collaboration with the Theatre Union of the Russian Federation, this Caravan will be a great opportunity to discover new geographic and artistic territories to feel the cultural roots of the region, to network with local and international artists, establish new contacts and partnerships, visit key venues, and get acquainted with the local reality and... travel through the Russian winter.

The Ural Industrial Biennial is the largest regional art project with international participation among those existing on the territory of the Russian Federation. The Biennial takes place in the former industrial and non-exhibition spaces in Yekaterinburg and other cities in the Ural region.
In its 5th edition, the Ural Biennial explores concepts behind the Immortality, both secular and sacred; it is seen as a powerful utopist idea, as technocratic obscurity, as a symbolic tool and as a condition which might cause evident ethical schisms.

ARTMIGRATION, Forum and Festival
Young directors recently graduated from Moscow theatre schools whose performances are in repertoire of Russian theatres beyond Moscow and Saint Petersburg are the heroes of this Festival. The Forum offers a communication platform for creative youth of different performing arts disciplines and also an opportunity to participate in seminars, presentations, discussions, and showcases.
Professionals aged under 35 from other cities can apply for accommodation coverage in Moscow.

Laboratory 40+
The project is designed for established actors with over 15 years of professional experience. The workshop gives an opportunity to have professional conversation with colleagues, reflect on their careers and artistic practices and try out new strategies. The workshop will result in the performance about actors. In the course of the lab various known in theatre history methods will be tried out (i.e. Mikhail Chekhov, Nikolay Demidov theatre methods, for instance). The final performance will be shown at the ARTMIGRATION festival in September 2019.

Teatr (The Theatre) Magazine
THE THEATRE (TEATR), the oldest of the existing Russian theatre magazines, is currently edited by Marina Davydova. There are three main sections of the magazine: On Stage (to represent all genres of theatre history including the genre of detailed review); Off Stage (to cover all kinds of the sociological aspects of drama that meet broad public response) and Beyond the Stage (to highlight the events from the standpoint of theatrical culturology). Above all the magazine has the section called Yellow Pages that carries all sorts of curious statistics, infograms and the results of various polls.

Theatre Marathon. Eight Theatre Forums in the Russian Regions

Digital Theatre Words
Digital Theatre Words (DTW) is a global project undertaken by International Organization of Scenographers, Theatre Architects and Technicians (OISTAT), the goal of the project is to compile an Internet dictionary addressed to all theatre professionals: set designers, stage architects, managers, costume designers, light designers, sound specialists, technicians, etc.

Federation Theatre Festival
New theatre festival established as part of the Year of Theatre Programme will be held in Grozny, The Chechen Republic. The Boyar House
